The apartment-studio BC was projected on a cornered terrain, on the east side of San José. The spatial and structural exercise consisted on decomposing a “6x6 box”. The axes start from a perfect cube, and there a game of heights and openings begins. Such game allows multiplicity of relations between exterior and interior. The search was to generate a multiplicity of perceptions and sensations, far from generating a totalitarian space. The architectural program is divided into two floors. The low storey is dedicated to the studio and the house’s PILAS area as well. On the second floor, a dinning room/living room is attached to the kitchen and the main access. The only bedroom is communicated with the bathroom, a microterrace and a reading room.
The project, designed on white steel, is CAMUFLADO cromatically with the closing planes of the same color. The stairs and the wooden PARASOLES contrast and equilibrate the dynamic and sober composition of this fragmented box.
