im house
sabanilla, 1999
Located in front of an urban park, im house responds to a functional program basically divided into three parts: a house with its characteristic spaces (kitchen, dinning room, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms), an apartment and an office for the house’s woman, who practices as a lawyer. The distribution was determined by the narrowness of the site and the explicit request of the clients to avoid the sense of escape towards depth.

As the project is entered, a double height curve defines the office and the apartment. Towards one side, the staircase separates the entrance from the individual parking space. Continuing, the living room is located, with its view towards an internal patio and stairs, which conduct to the second level, where the private area is located. |
An office space is projected, with visual contact with the open spaces and patios. The roof is designed as an expressive element, calm and symbolic. Its slopes play with the concrete slabs, the glass surfaces and the openings on narrow stripes, which stand out from the façade.
