This “Los Yoses Renovation Plan” is prompted by the Barrio Los Yoses Neighbor’s Association, with the support of the Instituto de México and the Chilean Embassy. The project was developed for the Association by the architects Luis Diego Barahona and Eugenia Solís.
This neighborhood plan is based on an analysis of the zone and consists on a proposal focused on: the strengthening of public space, the consolidation of identity of the place, and the vitalization of the landscaping values of the neighborhood. The urban approach is based on “urban acupuncture systems”. The “urban acupunctures” were proposed by Oriol Bohigas (Barcelona, Spain) and Jaime Lerner (Curitiba, Brasil), who proposed in their cities small urban interventions that work to regenerate the existing urban weave. This “neighborhood plan” is based on urban acupunctures and additionally proposes to overlap and add them to create an “urban acupuncture system” in Los Yoses Neighborhood. This plan contemplates priorly the user, the social integration and the investment’s low cost. |
