  • variedades el sol naciente store
    escazú, 2002

Located in one of the fastest-growing areas of the city –Escazú-, the new site for Variedades el Sol Naciente store, dedicated exclusively to retail of seeds and dry flowers, is projected. It responds to the main distributor of these products in the country, thus its growth reflects on the project’s scale.
Formally a simple-lined building was projected, to exploit the cornered situation of the site, and to have such strength as to impact the memory of people driving nearby the west sector of the project.
  • The sun radiation toward west was controlled with a doubled-height wall, and openings toward south were designed on facades and roof, for controlled natural illumination and cross ventilation. Stand out internally the double height space where the shelves are to be placed, a mezzanine for the administration area, a cellar and a presentation area.
Two elements are part of the design. First an area with the exposition of exotic animals –as a client request- located on the west sector, and a water mirror to the north, as a visual recreation on a store where warm coloring on products prevails.
Contemporary expressionism with simple lines is the proposal for a store that searches, above all, to count with an image for future branches.
